The Film
The Story
ACTionism follows Ellie Meredith on a journey from anxiety to action. From the question of what one person can do, to the discovery that the question itself was wrong.
It is a film about finding your people. About moving from passive consumer to active citizen. About doing things with others, not to others.

Host a Screening
The film is not meant to be watched alone at home. It is meant to be felt together, and the conversation after the screening is where you find the others.
Over a hundred communities across fifteen countries have already screened it. A scout group in Chepstow, a university in Istanbul, a climbing wall in Kendal, a library in Denmark, a school in Frome and in El Nido in the Philippines.
Not through a distribution deal or a marketing strategy. Just people watching it and immediately thinking of someone else who needed to see it.

How to host
We've partnered with 99p Films, experts in social cinema, to create a guide to hosting a community screening and conversation. It covers how to create space for open, honest discussion - and how to make sure people leave with more than they arrived with.

FAQ's
Is there a fee to screen the film?
We’re a non-profit with limited funding, so we've suggested a £100 donation to help us cover costs. If that is beyond your organisation, make a donation for whatever you can.
One idea is to hold a collection at your screening and donate what you collect.
Can one of the ACTionism Crew do a live Zoom Q&A after the film?
If we can make it happen, we will! Just give us the dates and times as soon as you can, and we'll do what we can.
Can one of the ACTionism Crew come to a screening for a Q&A?
We love to meet people trying to do good, so within reason, yes! That said we will need plenty of notice to plan ahead and help to cover any travel and accommodation costs.
Check out our workshop page to discover how we can help build connections.
How flexible are the viewing conditions (e.g., confirming a date, charging a fee)?
Super flexible. We want as many people as possible to see the film, so we’ll work with whatever setup makes sense for you.
How do we access the film?
The film is hosted on Vimeo. When you request a screening, we’ll send you the URL and further details about how to access it.
Can we do an online screening for our community, business, or organisation?
Definitely! We’re happy for it to be shown in different settings.
