There are many ways to get started. In our experience, the best way to begin is to find the others — the people near you who are feeling something like what you're feeling.

There's no right way to do this, and no wrong one either. Pick whichever of these feels closest to you, or do all of them, in any order.

Take part in Citizen Friday

Join an event near you, or add a pin to the map. This helps us all see each other, and it's happening every Friday, everywhere.

Find where you stand

A set of simple statements, shared with others, quickly showing you're not alone — wherever you land. Do it alone, with friends, or with a room full of strangers.

Read below.

Finding the Others

Start by viewing these statements and seeing where you place yourself on the line. Now do it with friends, colleagues, strangers.

Once you share your thoughts, something shifts. Private concerns become visible and more often than not you see that there are others, wherever you are on the chart, that feel like you.

Use the boards as physical posters, online, or as an interactive movement exercise — wherever people gather.

There are no right or wrong answers — just honest ones.

For each statement, mark where you actually are. Then see where others have placed themselves.

Prefer to do it in person?

Print the posters and use them at a gathering, a screening, a kitchen table, a park bench. Grab a stamp or a pen and mark where you actually are. Then look at where the people around you have marked themselves.
