And here's Isabel Mack, Party Kit Network explaining exactly why she is hosting a screening.
"I was just writing a Facebook post about the upcoming screening of Re-Action Collective’s short film ACTionism (while making lunch for my kids - school holidays 🤯) and found myself reflecting on why I’m hosting a screening in the first place. I realised that being part of Re-Action has been one of the most uplifting things I’ve done. Even while stewarding a global network of over 600 party kit hosts, the day-to-day can feel lonely. Trying to navigate the “old world” while building something new is exhausting. I didn’t fully understand why until I read Citizens by Jon Alexander. Joining the Re-Action crew gave me the space and the solidarity to keep going. So if you’re near Winchester and would like to share in a little bit of that sparkle, please join us on 24th September! ✨"
ACTionism isn’t the only thing happening in town. Winchester Green Week is a vibrant annual celebration of community-powered climate and sustainability action. It brings together local groups, organisations, and residents for a week of events, talks, workshops, and hands-on activities, all designed to inspire practical change and spark hopeful conversations. It’s about learning, connecting, and taking real steps together toward a greener, fairer future.
That sounds like our kind of event.
