Want to take an ACTion today: Host an ACTionism film screening
We love people to watch ACTionism through community or workplace screenings so that it can inspire and connect people through shared experiences and conversations. So we're setting a goal for the first half of 2026: another 100 community screenings. Interested?
ACTionism, the documentary film that encouraged us to start this project, is a film about the art of finding your people and taking collective action. About collectively moving from passive consumers to active citizens. A story centred around doing things with others, not to others. And we want more people to see it!

COMMUNITY SCREENINGS
We love people to watch ACTionism through community or workplace screenings so that it can inspire and connect people through shared experiences and conversations. So we're setting a goal for the first half of 2026: another 100 community screenings. Interested? We’re all about encouraging communities to take action. We hope this film will do just that by inspiring and connecting people through community screenings and conversations.
The Plymouth Young Greens just hosted a screening and workshop around the film, and the feedback was incredible!

It seems to be having a really positive reception in workplaces and co-working spaces, too! Take a look at what @jatinkalikasarmour and @DragonCoworking thought about their recent screening
INSPIRE OTHERS TO STOP WAITING FOR OTHERS TO 'FIX IT'
ACTionism (the film) is 30 minutes long (we have a shorter version for schools if needed) follows Ellie Meredith on a journey from anxiety to action.
“School was a tricky time for me—as a neurospicy human, I hated being stuck in four walls all day. The mounting pressure of exams and anxiety became too much, and I crawled inside myself. Add to that cocktail a rising sense of climate anxiety, and it all felt completely overwhelming. I kept thinking about what I could do. The question itself was rooted in uncertainty about my own future—a future that felt as though it were being mapped out for me. But what I really wanted was to get stuck in, to find my people. To feel less alone.”
“I found myself drawn to the work of Re-Action. At a time when most of the actions I was told to take to “save the planet” felt like joyless personal sacrifices—buying a reusable coffee cup—this kind of action felt different. It meant that there might be a way for me to take action alongside others, not as if I were on some solo mission to save the world.
And this film is the unravelling of where that led me next.”
CONNECT
After watching the film, we’re encouraging community screenings to save space for conversations. To help, we’ve partnered with our friends 99p Films, the experts of social cinema, to create a guide titled ‘how to social cinema.’
This guide includes information on how to host a conversation and create space for open and fair discussion.
ACT COLLECTIVELY
We want to be part of building communities of active citizens, not passive consumers. To accompany the film the Re-Action Collective have created a handbook of stories, focusing on the question “how did you start?”. The handbook will feature stories from across the globe of citizens connecting and acting in communities.
Sitting alongside this handbook are a set of guides from Party Kit Network founder Isabel Mack about practical, actionable ideas to help you build community connections, spread awareness, and inspire others to get involved. Plus info from Scott Johnson and the Counting Change community (a collective of accountants) about whether we need permission or structures to start taking action.
