Pollinator Pathways Project
This group of volunteers are building pollinator highways through the city. Not through policy. Not through waiting. Through people showing up and doing the work. This is what collective action looks like.
What if reconnecting with nature could heal both you and your community? What if environmental restoration was something you did with your neighbours rather than leaving to so called experts? This section showcases nature initiatives that transform how we relate to the living world - from community orchards to citizen science projects to local biodiversity groups - inspiring examples you can join or start in your own area.

In the fabric of my youth, one resounding question echoed: “Can I play outside?” Those were joyful days of boundless exploration, where even the most inconspicuous treasures—a backyard stick or drifting leaves—beckoned with the promise of adventure. Nestled within a rural community, I was blessed by the nurturing

I’ve been told more than once that it’s hard to get young people interested in nature or climate change. That they’re always on their phones - disconnected, disinterested. But honestly? I think we’re asking the wrong questions - and placing the blame in the wrong place.

Growing up, my nickname was ‘20 Questions’ because I was always curious, always asking “why?” I felt a deep sensitivity to the systems and ‘norms’ around me. There was a quiet, persistent unease, a sense that something wasn’t quite right. I didn’t realise that what I was experiencing
