Re-Action Basecamp, 19th July, Peak District

Saturday 19th July, 10:00 - 17:00📍
Outside, Hathersage, Peak District
The Re-Action Collective is taking their project outside (literally!)
Re-Action member Outside (a family run independent outdoor store in the Peak District) are hosting the first-ever Re-Action Basecamp, a special event dedicated to giving big donated gear a second life.
Expect tents, waterproofs, rails of outdoor clothing, and some seriously good deals - all in support of Moors for the Future & the Archer Project.
With live repairs from Re-Action members Becky (Sheffield Clothing Repair) and workshops on caring for our outdoor kit from Katy (Upcycle_kit)
Plus as if that wasn't enough, a community walk led by guide Neil Summers - a 14.5km loop, reconnecting to nature, and visiting the wonderful Stanage Edge.
The Archer Project and Moors for the Future will have representatives on hand to share how the donations from Outside's Re-Action Rail have been making a real difference. The rail has supported these organisations by raising 15k from reselling secondhand kit over the last two years.
Moors for the Future - Protecting the uplands for the benefit of us all
- Raising awareness and inspiring people so that they value and care for the landscape
- Restoring and conserving our moorlands so that they are beneficial for people, better for wildlife and more resilient
- Developing expertise and building a sound evidence base to underpin our work and help everybody protect and manage the moors
The Archer Project - our aim is to offer individuals the opportunity to progress away from homelessness, towards living more meaningful and fulfilling lives through:
- Developing independence
- Improving abilities to tackle setbacks
- Learning to identify and change negative behaviour
- Building confidence
- Promoting wellbeing
