Something to join: "How To Save Democracy" at The Conduit
Tonight live at the Conduit, at 7:30pm Jon Alexander meets Caroline Lucas and Ellie Meredith to ask if and how people power can still provide a meaningful response to the climate emergency.

Something to read: Beginnings and Endings
An article written by myself, about 'Aha' Moments, and how the origins of ACTionism lie with grief. Fittingly, I'm re-sharing this today, because this journey into possibility has been full of what some might call coincidences. But I don’t believe in coincidence anymore. There have been too many.
As we build collective action, it doesn’t feel like fate or chance, it feels like truth pulling us together.
So, it’s no surprise, to me, that ACTionism is beginning to receive the platform it deserves, right around the anniversary of the event that first sparked this whole adventure.
Very proud to see our collective work put into the spotlight through the voices of 3 humans I admire deeply.
Have a lovely evening you incredible citizens.

Something to Join: A Party
Tomorrow - Join our Live Spotlight ACTionism Call, featuring the founder of the Party Kit Network and No Crap Communities
Ever felt like the only one who cares? Ready to act on your values but worried about standing out?
Join us for an inspiring conversation with two changemakers, Isabel Mack and Charlotte Mason-Curl, who turned their frustrations into thriving movements, because the best community movements start with people who decide enough is enough - and then show others it can be different by coming together and taking collective action.
Oh, and don't forget to bring cake.
Not only are we celebrating the work of two incredible citizens, it is my first time in the interviewing hot-seat and it's my Birthday. Let's celebrate!

Something to read: Learning to Love Where We Live
A beautiful article from Olivia. This is more than just an article to read, it's a call to ACTion. This is the start of a creative journey, one that is essential, and one we're all very lucky to join.
In this first piece, Olivia describes, that it’s no surprise that sometimes we feel the urge to reach for the escape hatch.
“That weird, wonderful urge, seemingly shared by a lot of young(ish) folks, that there's always the option of selling all your belongings, shaving your head, and moving to South America to experience true spiritual connection and discover the meaning of life.”
But here’s the thing: even these escape fantasies are still part of the same story. The one that centres the individual. The idea that if you just go far enough, cleanse deeply enough, or curate your life beautifully enough, you’ll finally be free.
Learning to Love Where You Live invites us to let go of that story. It’s a front-row seat to what happens when we choose to stay, to connect, and to build collective action within our communities.
"The time has come for me to take action and to live the reality of what I believe: that by learning to love where we live we can make genuine and lasting change."
"Because the work of resisting authoritarianism, of fighting for a liveable future, of creating the communities we'll need as systems continue to collapse - none of that can happen from a place of isolation and fear. It requires us to actually be connected to each other, willing to show up imperfectly, ready to love each other through the mess."
"This is why I'm shifting from "you" to "we." Not to erase individual experience, but to acknowledge what's actually true: we're in this together. The project of learning to love where we live is inherently collective."
This is such important work, I’m not sure it gets more relevant than this. Thank you, Olivia, for such a beautiful and brave piece of writing.
We can’t wait to walk this journey with you.

Thank you Citizens
Thank you for reading, and for showing up with your energy and support for this movement.
If this resonated, and you’re enjoying the Citizen Spotlights, Calls to Action, and everything beginning to take shape in this collective space, please share it with a friend.
With love,
Gav.
We’ve found the escape hatches.
But there’s just one catch.
We can only open the master one if we choose to act, together.
